Brother Wind is an eclectic mix of styles from raw 60''s and 70''s rock to the heavier pop of the nineties and with a spattering of techno this trio combine to write and perform rich energetic and poignant musical compositions. Those who have met them and heard their music have suggested that they sound a bit like "the Cars" mixed with "Toad the Wet Sprocket" and with elements of "U2" and even a bit of "Maroon Five" in the mix. Karma and FC met in high school and have remained friends for many years now and with the more recent addition of Horus they have discovered a musical combo that really got them all excited. In the course of only a few months time together they have written almost thirty songs and continue to write at an alarming pace. These guys finally decided they''d better try and record some of these tunes so they picked fourteen of them to record and place on their first ever album release that they announced will be called "shattered images" that will be available later this year.
To get a good idea what these guys are like, They are fun loving, friendly and like most of us, they have a huge interest in technology, films, comic books, and of course, music. They have tried to combine these elements into their music with much success. They are currently working on their stage show which promises to be very exciting and they hope everyone will enjoy it as much as they are enjoying putting it together. Karma and FC got together, Karma with his trumpet and FC on the drums, and found they had a good time. Both FC and Karma had sung together in choir and were no strangers to singing. when Karma invited Horus to come out he brought guitar to the team to compliment another guitar player who has since left the band due to his busy schedule. Shortly after that Karma chose to pick up a bass guitar and learn how to play and this also sparked a songwriting spree for him. Horus brought guitar and guitar-synth work to the band along with another singing voice and an interest in theater. Together they are "Brother Wind" and they present to the universe their musical offering, and they hope you like it!
So what do the dragons have to do with these guys? Or for that matter, what does the name mean? Or even the url Brothers of the Wind?? These come from a fictional narrative about the creation of the universe, written by Horus that is posted in the blog on their myspace page. Check it out if you want some decent reading that puts a bit of a musical spin on the creation of the fine universe we live in.
