I grew up in a small town in Georgia called Brunswick. It has its good parts, bad parts and parts in between. The bottom line was that I had developed this urgent need to experience diversity, travel the country, then the world (in that order) and develop an opinion of life that was based on experience, not speculation. I soon moved to Nashville Tennessee which put me in a position to travel to closer, bigger places and meet many different people. I had always been involved in creating music. Surprisingly, Nashville suppressed my musical venture. In Fact, I didn’t even pick up my guitar during the 2 years in which I lived there. I feel music, I see music and that causes my tunes to be more abstract, more from the hip. My experience in Nashville made me think people were more concerned about record sales and structure. As I moved on, I landed in Raleigh NC. Moving here has helped me continue my voyage and exposed me to even more diverse situations. So far, I feel as though this leg of my trip has been the most enlightening however, I cannot discount what got me here in the first place. With the opportunity to almost completely walk away from my career, take 3 cross country trips (and many small ones in between), become engaged, rid myself of a materialistic mindset and focus on my passion of music, I have started building my foundation. I have come to realize a strong belief and value system, placed more emphasis on living life to be happy and am making an attempt to convey this in my music. I hope you enjoy what you find, and share it with others.
