Details:
1st of January 2008, the Swedish government passed a law called the Culture Enrichment Act. Which means that every cultural products, such as paintings, music, theater etc. must be approved by the government. When Jens Wennberg sent his new self titled EP in for review he got this letter back in about a month:
Dear, Jens.
In the directions of pop music §5694:45 set by parliament in January 2008, it says that:
The lyrical contents of pop music may not consist of racist slurs, sexist content, anti war protest, encouragement of anti social behavior, and/or other immoral and unethical content. Good topics to base lyrics on may be love songs, summer times and religious hymns.
Any criticism towards The New World Order, expressed either in cover art and/or lyrics are strictly forbidden and will be penalized with fines and/or imprisonment.
Traditional instruments are strictly forbidden. Only synthesizers, midi instruments and samples are allowed. Acoustic instrument are reserved strictly to marching bands and television orchestras (although not encouraged).
Recordings has to be made on a digitalized and controlled platform (Palladium) where content can be monitored and ensured.
All recordings must include approved and licensed Digital Rights Management (DRM).
The department of culture has decided that the recording Jens Wennberg – Jens Wennberg(2008) do not fulfill some or all of these requirements and cannot be approved. This decision is final and cannot be appealed. All copies of the recording shall be destroyed otherwise legal actions will be considered.

Like a true rebellion, Jens did not comply with these directions, and instead decided to release the record over seas. In august 2008, Jens packed up his gear and went on a US tour with his newly pressed EP now called Music NOT Approved By The Government of Sweden, and the rest is history.
