Details:
... The year''s 2005 and four lads from hertfordshire are still exploring their taste in modern music, each either starting (or mastering) their musical instrument.

March brings Eddie a mediocre beginners drum kit and also brings regular visits from guitarist Sam round for a "jam". The style is undeveloped and is mostly "hard rock", hardly strummed chords with the occassional solo here and there. Later on in the year Colin and Jack begin to learn their instruments and also regularly visit Eddie''s house for jams. The turn of the year brings the early formation of Jenium, the songs are still lacking "the Jenium way" but still acceptable for songs from a band finding their feet. The song that still stands from this early era is EP opener "Open Window Blues", named after Colin wanted a song with ''blues'' at the end and after Eddie had opened a window to let air in.

After a few shabby recordings without vocals Jack starts practicing with us more regularly and we''re ready to hit the welwyn garden farm factories studio. At the studio the band finally settle on the name Jenium as well as gaining valuable experience. With "Open Window Blues" and "Son Of The Moon" recorded band practices on Saturday afternoons almost becomes a habit and soon enough "Trust" and "Remember" are ready to record in late spring/early summer of 2006. With a summer of keen song writing, the next academic year is upon us and soon enough "Wait Patiently and "King Without A Crown" are born around September, as well as this Jack is given an ibanez bass for his 16th birthday giving the band a more professional sound. For the next recording session it is "Hypnotica" that will be recorded in October half term. Now the first EP starts to take shape and as the year reaches an end, christmas produces new cymbols for Eddie and a new guitar for Colin. Just before the turn of the year "Wait Patiently" and "King Without A Crown" are recorded to a positive reaction from the fans.

The first gig is arranged for the British Legion in St Albans in March and early 2007 is spent preparing for this gig and gigs in the summer as well as creating new material and finding their new style. The legion gig is a success and the fan base starts to grow. Two new styled songs are ready to record in late June 2007 and the band relish in showing off their new songs "Take This To Your Heart" and "Close To Home". Summer 2007 brings gigs in more varied places such as Cambridge and Brixton, as well as a gig at the renowned Green Room on 11th September. With the lads all joining sixth form there is a sense of maturity around the practice rooms and more sophisticated well thought up songs like "Desperate Days" are created and the song is showcased at the Green Room, and it goes down well with the crowd. Children in Need 2007 on November 16th sees Jenium rock the reopening of the famous Pioneer, despite half the crowd not getting in the band get a good reception and a rewritten classic (Follow The Train) is showcased for the first time and the audience are all dancing along.

2008 begins promisingly for the band with a battle of the bands in Rickmansworth awaiting in Febraury after the band hit the recording studio their two new gems "Follow The Train" and "Desperate Days" very early in January. January 25th sees Jenium support Sam''s dad''s band (Deaf Shepherd) in aid of a charity for Ghana, this gig is a success with many strangers giving compliments after the show. Another gigging success comes shortly afterwards on the 8th of February when Jenium rock the stage at the Battle of the Bands semi final in Watersmeet, the band triumph over 4 others to gain the top spot on the night. The band then went on an unofficial hiatus as coursework and exams took over but were back on the scene with small pub gigs (on of which in Camden) and eventually playing at Larks in the Park in London Colney. During this phase the band signed to ''Open Window Records'' agreeing to record a demo album to be sold on iTunes with a physical release planned for later in the year. Another significant event in this period was the professional mastering of ''Close To Home'' in preparation for a single release, provided thanks to a link via the record label. Back to the new music and the finished "Vampires" debuts at Tommy Flynn''s in Camden, then to a more local audience at Larks in the Park (both times the song was given an exceptional reception). Moving on to the July sunshine and Jenium rock a private party, giving the attendants a truly memorable performance including two new covers "Teddy Picker" and "Hey Ya!" going down impeccably. Most of the lyrics are written by Eddie, with the rest written by Colin (which he usually sings) and the occassional suggestion from the other two.
