Details:
After two years in the studio, Pittsburgh-based rock band Looseleaf is primed to make a big push with the mid-June release of their full-length cd, "Anywhere But Here." Comprised of four life-long friends, the band dates back to 2000 but has only rocked its current lineup since December 2002.

Since that time they have been in continuing studio sessions with Tripper of the Buzz Poets, the cd''s producer. Those sessions have resulted in two efforts: "Sketches," a six-song acoustic ep showcasing the band''s earliest material, and their full-length debut cd, "Anywhere But Here." "It''s been a long process on this new cd, but I wouldn''t trade it for anything," says band member Tim Mulhern (vocals, guitar). "I''ve turned into a studio junkie and I love it. We''re so grateful for having Tripper produce this album." "Anywhere But Here" features 12 new original tracks, two covers ("Drive" and "Times Like These"), and a Tripper-directed video for the song "To Believe." Four guest musicians also appear: Tripper (vocals); Jim Dispirito, formerly of Rusted Root (percussion); Dan Donahoe (trumpet); and Bill Tobin (piano).

With their studio chores behind them, Looseleaf is booking a series of shows to promote the new cd. Plans are underway for the band to take its act on the road to various cities and venues. "The great thing about this band is that we have the ability to play almost any type of venue, says Mike Peterson (vocals, lead guitar). "One night we might be playing a heavier rock show, the next we might be stripped down to acoustics." The plan is to get out there and play as many shows as possible. The cd has been a work in progress for a little over a year now, and the band is anxious to get the music out there to the people who want to hear it. "The whole recording process has not only been a creative and productive trip, it''s been an enjoyable one," says bassist Nick Anthony. Drummer Scott Decker adds, "the new material has really opened some ears and turned some heads." "Our music has evolved into a smooth, yet edgy sound that could have never been possible without the past intense year of eating, sleeping, and breathing our music and the whole studio/recording process. The only thing left is for "Anywhere But Here" to be soaked up by the people, because the music is fresh, intense, and ready to be heard. Look the fuck out!"
