Born & Raised in Beirut - Lebanon, as a child Tarek was amazed by Rock Music and Acoustic guitars. Stars like Tracy Chapman, Brian Adams & Elvis contributed a lot to building up his love to music. In year 2000 Tarek formed an Alternative Rock band in order to take part of a local Anti-Drugs Song Competition
Prepared by Im El Nour Rehab Community. The Competition was widely advertised and 36 local bands took part of it. Tarek’s new formed band “Soul Active” won first prize with Tarek’s song “Sorry”
From there on, Soul Active started off and was soon recognized as one of the best performing bands in Lebanon, and of the few that performed Originals in their gigs. The band performed everywhere and was always the first to be invited to perform in Rock Concerts. They were also featured both on Local and International Media including L’orient Le Jour Journal, The Campus Magazine, Local Radio Stations, LBC TV, Maximum TV, and a Japanese Television to name a few.
The group dissolved in 2005 after the country went through a huge maze of assassinations and a very dangerous political situation. There was almost no Rock Scene in Lebanon anymore, and Tarek’s band members had to flee the country, just like most of the Lebanese community.
In 2007 Tarek met with Mohammad Kebbe, who has one of the best Music Producing reputations in the Middle East. Tarek gave a track “PRAYER” he had written years back to Mohammad to give it a listen. Few days later, the two had already established an agreement to record and release the single under Tarek Sidani’s own name as a solo artist.
Prayer is about being in love with someone but not having the guts to tell him/her. A true life experience that Tarek has lived, and believes many people had too.
Today, the CD single is ready with four tracks, Studio Version, Ambient Mix, Drums & Base Mix, and an Acoustic Version. PRAYER is currently being aired on the biggest Radios in Lebanon and has been receiving nothing but great audience response.
The CD’s are expected to hit the National Lebanese market within the month of December 2007. With plans under preparation for an International approach in the near future.
