The members of Transportation met at Amherst College some years back. Post graduation the trio decided to move to Chapel Hill, NC to continue their music. Years of solid support from fans, clubs, studios and the local music community in general have played an integral part in the experimental nature of the band as well as the maturation of their tight friendship.
The trio attempt to remain sympathetic to the more traditional genres of American and British Rock while also seeking a contemporary relevance. To that end they have achieved local success by continually underscoring the things they like best about the music they grew up with. Rather than trying to subvert, or in someway refuse those influences, they opt to incorporate them. On Daydreams Transportation creates a sound that is both recognizable and refreshing.
