The Bramblemen started as a project to record a soundtrack for a movie treatment that Rich Bloom was writing. This album represents my true passion for Real Rock and Roll and film, with many of the songs offering tribute to various classic genres that influenced me. "Fast Train to Memphis" is a noir type story that utilizes the musical flavor of southern R&B. "Tijuana Flower" is a Tex-Mex tribute to musicians like The Sir Douglas Quintet (Doug Sahm) and the story line incorporates imagry from the James Dean film "Giant." "Drag Strip Rally" tries to evoke the early sounds of the Beach Boys, Ronny & the Daytonas California car/surf culture. "DreamWorld" tries for a Roy Orbison flavor (big note finish), "Weekend Fever" is an Elvis Presley type "Follow that Dream" narrative, with a Johnny Cash type of twang. "Real Gone Man (from Alabam''), "Cold Beer & Red Hot Women," and "Crazy Little Be-Bop Girl" were all songs I wrote for the film project I had started and they all have an early Country, Rockabilly feel. "Long Road Back," was described as Roy Orbison meets Creedence, a swampy southern style rocker with a film like story narrative. "Your Good Man''s Gone" was meant to evoke a Rolling Stones "Exile on Main Street" type of vibe, combining horn driven rock and roll with some country twang. Physical CD package includes two videos.
