Details:
This was the first album we recorded, in a ground-level, damp "basement" in uptown New Orleans. Two years later we were forced to move due to the lingering resentment generated by those four weeks of blocks-wide noise.
Believe it or not, every song on the album actually does fit under the concept "fairytales of the distribution networks": we tried to build this weird world of pig phoenixes, soul circuitry, solar buses full of glass passengers, sewers, telephone lines, veins, airplanes, and insane, good-hearted truckers, the globally-embracing arms of war, worms, eagles, and turkeys. This is our real world, made completely fictitious and kind of darkly funny if you think about it.
All of the songs on here were written by McGarvey and Coy, with David Mahoney playing drums and Greg Smith playing bass. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Coy and McGarvey.
