Details:
Sunset Records recording artist Christopher Maloney, who has recorded with the likes of Lisa Loeb, Dweezil Zappa, Lao Tizer, and members of Journey and INXS, has completed his new CD, The Terrors Of Intimacy. A follow-up to his 2002 Sunset debut release Control, "Terrors" is also a very emotionally charged work, but this time around the lyrics are more reflective. Focusing now on more intimate, universal and spiritual themes, this CD is both more adventurous and more concise than its predecessor. The growth in Christopher''s voice and songwriting is clearly evident, as is his willingness to explore new musical horizons.

Lyrically, the songs on The Terrors Of Intimacy deal with the fear people have in opening themselves up to other people and to themselves. Hard hitting songs like "33", "Satori" "Opening Up" and "Real" focus on exploring new horizons in one''s own psyche. The softer songs like "The Sinking" and "Broken Record" are about the challenging intimacy in romantic relationships. The up-tempo, rocking songs like "Comical", "My Soul Is Taken", "It Doesn''t Matter Anymore" and "All The Love You Need" are juxtaposed with more reflective songs like "Let Me Breathe You In", "Don''t Let Me Die" and "Meet You In The Storm". The classic rock influences remain, but this time with a more modern and textural sound. This CD celebrates a huge leap forward in Christopher''s musical and artistic development.

Christopher''s musical journey began in elementary school with brief stints on recorder and drums. More interested in comic books than musical expression, he waited until age 13 to buy himself a second-hand bass guitar and amplifier. Within just a few short months, Christopher was gigging with rock bands and his school''s jazz/vocal ensembles in his native city of Syracuse, New York. By the age of 17, he had already won a citation from a national music association, was sight-reading and arranging big band charts, playing and singing in bars with his cover band, and was invited to perform for the President of the United States. Things were off to a pretty good start!

After graduating with honors from Oswego State University, Christopher started his own band and settled in New York City, where the group played packed houses in Greenwich Village and toured the eastern US college circuit. It was during this period that Christopher starting honing his songwriting and vocal chops. In pursuit of more musical challenges, Christopher left NYC for Los Angeles to pursue a career as a musician and songwriter. He attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and studied with some of the industry''s most talented musicians. Christopher graduated from MI with top honors and was given the Outstanding Student of the Year award.

Upon finishing at MI, Christopher sought out to play with the finest musicians he could. He has recorded and/or performed with artists such as Dweezil Zappa, Ahmet Zappa, Lisa Loeb, Blues Saraceno, Jon Stevens, Lao Tizer, Gilli Moon, Chieli Minucci, Brett Garsed, Virgil Donati, Don Randi, Rick Monroe, Possum, Mino Cinelu, Jeff Kollman, Cosmosquad, Andrew Williams, Hardline, Neal Schon, Phil Mogg, $ign of 4, Eddie Kramer and BUR. He has jammed with Carl Verheyen, Steve Vai, Jamie Glazer, David Hirschfelder, Scott Henderson and members of Earth, Wind & Fire and INXS. Christopher''s playing has attracted endorsements from SWR amps, Linc Luthier basses and Dean Markley strings. Christopher also continued a heavy performance schedule, playing throughout Asia, North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean and Europe. In addition, he continued to write and record his own songs. He was the recipient of the ASCAP Plus award two years in a row, and his songs were placed on numerous television shows throughout the United States and Europe.

After building up an impressive discography, Christopher decided it was time to put out music that was all his own work. He sought to record a CD that showcased his unique songwriting and voice as well as his musicianship. His first effort, Control, was a very personal and musical work. With Christopher singing and playing bass, acoustic guitar, keyboards and piano, the CD also features world-renowned musicians Brett Garsed on guitar and Shane Gaalaas on drums. This record was a chance for Christopher to establish himself as a musical artist in his own right, and it was successfully able to satisfy both musicians and music lovers alike with its unique form of modern rock.

Christopher recently completed his sophomore CD, entitled The Terrors Of Intimacy. This CD was a giant leap forward in Christopher''s development as a singer and songwriter. He once again produced the album himself and also played most of the instruments. He was joined again by Shane Gaalaas on drums and brought on his friend and session ace Jeff Kollman to handle the electric guitar duties. Christopher is currently planning the official release of The Terrors Of Intimacy, which will include extensive acoustic and band performances to promote it.
