MP3 Mark Christopher - ...and So The Story Goes...
Sesame Street goes cynical on this 70''s jazzy pop-influenced debut, from Detroit''s own singer/songwriter/space cadet.
6 MP3 Songs
POP: Piano, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
"Like Ben folds for the more eccentric types, the connoisseurs of harmony, but with some great 70''s, jazzy, poppy influences. Buzzed up with shades of Rufus Wainwright, these swirly, jangly and fuzzy tunes make up for a chilling glass of cool contemporary pop. Melodies that always existed and only needed the artist to set them free. Beats that are passed on through DNA." https://www.tradebit.com
My stupid bio:
When I was growing up, my parents had this awesome record collection hidden away in the bowels of our suburban basement. Lots of Motown and groove music like Junior Walker, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, EWF. Fantastic jazz: Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery, ACJ, Coltrane. And, of course, great pop records by The Beach Boys, Chicago, Bee Gees, Beatles, Doors and.......Moon Unit Zappa....(?)....um, anyway....
As evidenced on my new CD, these early years had a HUGE impact on me. And although over the years I''ve been manhandled by the RAWK, I still love great songs!! Singable, memorable melodies! Orchestration! Bells and whistles! Big ol'' hood ornaments that sparkle and shine and twinkle in your eye! I can also be quite a sap; I love a good dirge.
Of course, I''m not forgetting the RAWK! Fusing the old with the new is what MAKES this album...I mean, CD. Ben Folds, Radiohead, Mike Patton, Beck, Zappa, Moog Cookbook.......Somehow I tied it all together!
So buy my CD now, punk! Or I''ll hunt you down and torture you with "Valley Girl"!
Cheers,
Mark
