Details:
Marcy is a Singer/Songwriter who makes her home in Providence, Rhode Island. Born and raised in New York City she began playing guitar at age 8, and wrote her first song at the tender age of 11. Her parents, seeing that she loved to perform in the living room infront of thousands of imagined fans (mostly her baby sisters stuffed animals all lined up in neat rows), began to encourage her to play for (real people) at any given opportunity. Birthday parties, family functions and the occaisional school play. Her first experience performing for a large audience came at the age of 12 representing her Junior High School in a musical performance at the famed Lincoln Center in NYC for an audience of 2000 people.

Marcy kept playing and writing thru High School and College, at coffee houses and dorm parties. At 21 Marcy moved to Dallas,Texas and began playing with other musicians, eventually forming the folk duo Jericho. With a bag full of songs and a unique sound, Jericho made a strong impact on the Folk scene in Dallas and the southwest, gracing such famous venues as the Cactus Cafe in Austin, and Uncle Calvins Coffee House in Dallas. Opening for nationally touring acts, as well as dozens of regional folk acts. Not just another folk act, people were hard pressed to classify the music. "...Lang and Jericho bring a style to the scene that you cant quite put your finger on. All at once, folk, rock, blues with a little bit of country thrown in for good measure. The power and style of Langs voice changes like the wind with each song she sings..." - Mark Perry - Dallas Morning News

Known for her big, powerful voice, and her subtley angry, yet heart wrenching lyrics, Marcy had made a name for herself in the Southwest music scene.

In 1995, Marcy left Jericho behind and headed to the Green Mountains of Vermont. Playing all the local and regional ski resorts, bars and coffee houses, Lang honed her performance skills playing with other local musicians. Collaborating with local guitar player Dave Domenick, Marcy continued to write, pulling from her life experience, joys and pain. Finally getting into the studio, Marcy and Dave recorded a 3 song demo with help from other local musicians, engineered by Gary Henry of Windham Hill Records fame. One track from the demo, "A Little Tender", received local airplay and attracted local press attention. " ....once she opens her mouth and you hear the power in her voice, you will fall silent as she weaves her songs thru your very soul...." - Katie Kelly - Manchester Journal. Playing mostly original sets, it wasnt long until her audience began singing along to the lyrics to her songs.

Not satisfied with small town life, Lang relocated to Providence, Rhode Island in 2000. Writing all the while, Marcy connected with the Rhode Island music scene and began working with regional touring acts such as Mary Ann Rossoni "Marcy is an absolute powerhouse..." and John Fuzek "she shouldnt be opening for me, it should be the other way around...", and opening for National Touring acts such as Antigone Rising. Playing in Rhode Island, Massachusets, NewHampshire and Connecticut, Lang is finally releasing her first full length record, to be followed up by an East Coast tour.

All at once, powerful and seductive, Marcy Lang will draw you in, and her powerhouse voice will slam you into the wall. Her emotional lyrics and passionately delivered songs will break your heart and blow your mind.
