Mary Lou has been a working musician for many years, as a live performer, studio singer and artistic director for the Knoxville Children''s Choir. not about you is Mary Lou''s first solo CD and her first major flight into the world of songwriting.

ABOUT MARY LOU
Native East Tennessean, Mary Lou O''Hern, resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband, Michael, and children Adam (20), Aaron (17), and Ali (15). She attends Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, where she has been active in the music ministry for ten years. A believer since childhood, Mary Lou''s passion for the faith, for joyful music-making, and for children have combined uniquely, culminating in a 20-year teaching career.
After receiving a B.S. in elementary education (with concentration in music therapy), she was employed as an elementary school teacher for a large Christian school system in Southern California for several years. After the birth of her first child, she opted to be a stay-at-home mom, continuing to serve as a teacher and worship leader in the church. She eventually ventured back into the educational marketplace, founding the prestigious Knoxville Children''s Choir. She served as a children''s choir artistic director for 12 years, only recently stepping down, in order to re-direct her energies toward family, song-writing, recording, and generally toward music ministry.
A "journaler" since childhood, Mary Lou wasn''t in the habit of sharing her poetry. Rather, her verses and melodies were part of her private devotional and meditative time. However, in recent years, the call came to share her heart and testimony through song with the public. The concept took shape and the project not about you became a reality.
