MP3 MAX - Blue Lounge

Imagine the five-string-banjo in a pop, rock, smooth, lounge setting, imagine Dave Sanborn blowing some, British pop-star Rick Astley singing a couple of tunes and the Yellowjackets'' Jimmy Haslip playing bass (yes they all did - and some other great ones)

POP: Quirky

Details:
MAX
Max plays banjo. Be assured, you''ve never heard the banjo like this before: Straight-up rock''n roll (Prince of Peace), heartbreaking ballads (This River), cinematic moodsetters (The Black Riders, Fleck in Transit), funky takes on old fiddle music (Mon''s Groove, Cattle in the Gravy) - with grace and ease Max''s banjo seduces all of these styles, and finds its place straight in their heart. The backdrop for this musical fusion is unmistakably America - its result true Americana as seen through the eyes of a European expatriate.

For his first outing as a solo artist MAX has assembled a stellar cast of musicians:
Saxophone-legend David Sanborn collaborated on „Double Life". British Pop-Icon Rick Astley sang a rousing rocker (Prince of Peace) and a beautiful ballad (This River). Yellowjacket Jimmy Haslip played bass and contributed as an arranger, Copenhagen-based multi-instrumentalist Jonas Krag played guitars, keyboards and arranged. You''ll hear Suisse cello-phenomena Martin Tillman (from the scores of film-composer Hans Zimmer) on „Fleck in Transit", „The Black Riders" and „Bordersnakes". EVI-player Judd Miller (from the movie-scores of Danny Elfman, Maurice Jarre and other composers) contributed not only as instrumentalist but also as co-writer. Hilary Jones, who toured with the likes of Lee Ritenour, Robben Ford and Tribal Tech, played drums. Young California fiddle-star Gabe Witcher tears up the violin. Harmonica-Monster Jimmy Z. (Eurythmics, Rod Stewart, Jaguares) blows some spectacular harp. The Perri Sisters (from the tours of Oleta Adams and Anita Baker) contributed background vocals (This River) and Max''s old friend, Elton John-guitar player Davey Johnstone rocks out on a couple of tunes.

Eclectic, fun and gripping
