Thank you for your interest in Center Field.
Center Field is a first for me in many ways: it''s is the first project done completely in and for HeartSongMusic, it is the first collection I did all of the arranging, recording, mixing and mastering, all art work and printing was done at HeartSongMusic. It is the first collection where 3 of my children are featured, two with solos (Kelli on "Change" & Emily on "Share It With Me")and one with back up vocals and a solo verse (Nick on "Evidence of Love"). My daughter Christy played clarinet on "Come To Me" as well. It is the first collection that MyBeloved Linda, "Lefty", "the piano teacher", plays on two tracks. And it''s the first studio recording of mine with live mandolin. (Thanks Bill) and drums (Thank you Tony) that makes the songs come alive like no synth-keyboard could ever do.
Center Field has been a labor of deep love for at least two years; eight if you consider that I wrote Center Field in 2000 and knew it would some day be the title song of a new CD. Other than for two songs (Six String Orchestra and Evidence of Love) every note, word, melody line; every instrumental arrangement, phrasing and in some cases, every moment of silence was all created in the HeartSongMusic Studio. I believe this is a CD for just about everyone filled with story, love, reflection, hope, appreciation and relationship. Center Field is a deeply personal reflection of who I am in relationship to so many people; especially my wife, Linda; my children and friends and God.
With all that said, I hope you enjoy experiencing Center Field as much as I enjoyed creating it.
