Details:
With five spouses and 15 children of their own ranging in age from 4 to 26, ScribbleMonster found there was no such thing as an album for the whole family - until now. Their first "family album", Songs With No Character, features songs told from the point of view of mom, dad, and the kids, and has more musical variety than a classic K-Tel record.

The title, Songs With No Character, plays with the fact that the songs are performed without the ScribbleCharacter voices that have appeared on prior albums by ScribbleMonster & His Pals.

"Our previous releases were made for young listeners - hoping to have enough elements to keep the rest of the family interested," shares James Dague, ScribbleMonster’s bandleader. "Additionally, we took the opposite approach with a several songs on this disc; writing songs for mom or dad, hoping to have enough elements to keep the kids interested."

ScribbleMonster is comprised of five veteran Chicago-area performers with well over 100 years of creating, teaching and performing music, comedy and theater. James Dague, who plays guitar and sings, is joined by Brett Goral on drums, Brian Hufnagl on bass guitar, and additional tag-team lead vocals are provided by Jayne Saniat and Joyce Stuart.

Benefiting from their collective experience, ScribbleMonster’s live shows are a blending of traditional children’s music, improvisational comedy and power-pop that create a fun, interactive rock show for the whole family.

In addition to live performances with the band, which have included appearances at Lollapalooza, The Chicago Cultural Center and the International Pop Overthrow festival, Dague performs throughout the year as "ScribbleJim" at schools, libraries, festivals and other family events.

---"ScribbleMonster plays melodic poppy rock that would fit just fine on alt-rock radio, if only alt-rock radio played songs about monsters going ''Rrraargh!'' and imaginary friends." — Minnesota Parent

---"Some reviewers have likened ScribbleMonster & His Pals to ''Sesame Street on steroids.'' But this Chicago group is popular with parents who don''t mind a bit of an edge." — The Seattle Times

---“ScribbleMonster plays a meld of punk and pop that parents can appreciate with lyrics that will leave youngsters singing along long after the show is over." —Northwest Indiana Times
