What can we say? Yes, it''s classic Guitar Rock, played by the fully grown, but considering we didn''t stop exploring the musical landscape after 1979, it''s not out of step with the times. There''s a slight hint of Country Rock influence. Y''all remember what that term means? Acoustic instruments will compete to be heard in the mix here and there, like in, for instance, "Bad Reaction", and there''s some pleasant harmonies sprinkled throughout as well.
You could say we liked to rock to Tom Petty and Neil Young, but often preferred to express our life experience in the murky terms of Steely Dan. Or...the results might be described as Highly Refined Garage Rock, because it was digitally recorded in the outbuilding, where the band displaced the old classic Cadillac. Another valid theory - we have caught the evolutionary train to Alt Country, but then, we regularly break that "no depression" law that''s on the books. We might never get off at that station.
All that being said, diggit- it''s a first CD, but after we spent seven years writing and honing the songs, it''s no throw-together.
