Details:
On a hot summer day, from the quiet suburbs of Worcester, MA, there came a noise. A noise that started out quiet, but grew into the rowdy bunch of guys that now make up The Missing Lance Project.

Justin, Adam and Jon had been great friends for years. Jon and Adam started playing their respective instruments together when they were 13. It started with Green Day and Nirvana, then moved onto The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Stone Temple Pilots, then came Dream Theater and Victor Wooten. These bands changed the idea of music altogether (along with many other bands, but we''ll stick with the basics) and then came the days of ''chop building'' and practicing, learning and turning the instruments into their voice.

In early 1999, the group was asked to perform at their high school. They accepted the offer (quite gratefully!) and took on local whiz-kid Glenn Robertson as their drummer and sexy machine. The show was a big success so they decided to pool their talents and form what is now the MLP. They combined influences of guitar music, funk, jazz, ska, punk, bluegrass and rock to form an interesting result. While Glenn''s father and he biked to Adam''s house one day shortly after, Mr. Robertson asked if the cat could go outside as we noticed a little gray streak, Lance, well on his way to freedom.

During the practice, the guys began thinking of what they would be called. After a 30-second stint of being called "Dirty Mopeds" and "George Baver and the Beavers", the name "Missing Lance" was blurted out. To add some professionalism to the name, ''the'' and ''project'' were placed, and it stuck. "The Missing Lance Project" was born. This band''s for you, Lance Garber.

After selling out their first two shows (along with having the fire codes broken and officials step in for crowd control)... it was official. The band was a hit. While attending college they gigged when at all possible and continued snowballing the local music scene with a new style of music, something for people to dance and groove to. Soon, they were on their way to winning consecutive strings of "Battles of the Bands", playing at Amherst''s big Extravaganza, and eventually playing the esteemed Mullins Center as an opener for Lil'' Kim and Uncle Cracker, getting great reviews in the collegiate press.

In early 2002 the band entered the studio to record their first album... a seven track record with spicy riffs and grooving beats.
