Update: Kathryn was selected as a Finalist in the 2005 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase. She was selected from over 700 applicants.

Dreamers Everywhere was recently featured on NPR''s All Songs Considered website as part of their independent artist "Open Mic" series. Her song "I Give Thanks" will also be featured in the winter issue of Sing Out! magazine.

Dreamers Everywhere is Kathryn Mostow''s second release. It follows the 2002 release of Gratitude, her debut CD and a Top 12 DIY Pick in Performing Songwriter (Nov. 2002).

In Dreamers Everywhere, Kathryn explores new rhythmic and stylistic territories, weaving in Latin, blues, folk and acapella traditions into truly contemporary arrangements. She also brought on board some of Seattle''s finest musicians, including noted pianist Wayne Horvitz, cellist Jami Sieber, dobro and pedal steel player Dan Tyack, fiddler Paul Elliot and bassist Garey Shelton.

The power and beauty of Kathryn''s pure, expressive voice and deeply resonant songs has been noted by reviewers and fans alike. She has been described as a "soulful" artist who "gives out everything she is through her voice so that most listeners come rapidly to the belief that she is singing directly to them."

Much has happened in the world in the past 3 years, and Dreamers Everywhere reflects that. Kathryn''s songs touch on the numerous events of our current times, and the ensuing challenge of finding hope and community in an increasingly fractured world.

In "I Give Thanks," Kathryn builds a lush, compelling song around one of Margaret Mead''s most famous quotes, "never doubt that a small group of committed, thoughtful citizens can change the world...."

In "Freedom", Kathryn asks "what is freedom without mercy?" and challenges the traditional notion of flag-waving patriotism. But she also seeks to define a new type of patriot as one who works for peace instead of war.

"Hello World," asks the world to "spare the human race a little time". Similar in sentiment to Joni Mitchell''s "Woodstock" or CSN''s "Wooden Ships," it features beautiful harmonies and memorable melodies.

But don''t take our word for it! Listen to the songs on this site and let them speak for themselves. The 10 tracks on Dreamers Everywhere reflect the growth of Kathryn as an artist since her debut CD, and provide a sonically rich tapestry of hope and despair, dreams lost and dreams found.
