Pezzettino is the project of singer-songwriter, Margaret Stutt. Clasically trained in piano at the local convent and self-taught on her father’s accordion, Margaret writes eclectic indie-polka funk-classical metal songs. Her lyrics are skin grafs, frighteningly honest exposures of her personal life. The project''s name is a reference to Leo Lionni’s illustration book, "Pezzettino," a tale of self-discovery and independence.
Pezzettino''s influences include Yann Tiersen, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Tchaikovsky, Bach, The Avett Brothers, The Cranberries, Ben Folds, Sheryl Crow and Billie Holiday.
Pezzettino’s debut acoustic solo CD, "because I have no control…" will be released September 11 at Stonefly Brewery in Milwaukee. The low-fi production was recorded on Margaret''s laptop this summer in various bedrooms, bathrooms, and living rooms during a period of transient living. Pezzettino is now a "wizard alliance" of Nez, baby on electronic and acoustic drums, Adam Wile and Kelley Baum on dance. Pezzettino will be promoting the album on tour and is currently working on a follow-up album.
