Primo The Cinematic

Quiet on the set! Camera 1 is rolling. Bring up sound. Cue talent…and action!! The scene opens with an establishing shot of an urban neighborhood similar to every low to middle income area across the country. Cut to camera 2 as it pans left to a court way building with a small concrete porch. Camera 2 does a slow zoom to a medium shot of the talent sitting on the small cement area. As the talent raises his head we cut to an extreme close up (on camera 3) revealing a facial expression if translated into words it would say “I’m here now but not forever”. Cut to camera 1 holding a wide shot of the building were you notice gang bangers to the far right of the talent hanging in the alley being loud and boisterous but to his left there are 5 guys in a cipher rhyming one after another with over exaggerated movements as if their life depended on it. The talent has a semi serious stare but keeps his focus mainly to the left only glancing to the right every now and then almost unconsciously. At this moment we (the viewer) realize that the action taken place to the talents left obviously is more intriguing to him. Out of no where you hear a gun shot and everyone scatters living the talent sitting alone and the director yells cut. The location is the Southside of Chicago, the area is the Englewood community, the story is autobiographical and the talent/director is Primo The Cinematic. Born and raised in the city of wind, this now Virginia resident has never lost his Chi-Town roots. A wordsmith by nature, Primo has been a fan of Rap music since his youth but he is especially fond of the emcee’s that put it down at a time when lyrical dexterity meant more than hood credibility. Childhood friends always told Primo he had it in him to rock rhymes himself but he held a stronger desire for the writing aspect of the art than the performance side at that time. It wasn’t long before he stepped into his own and picked up the mic and started writing his audible mini movies for his own character. In the latter part of his teenage years Primo served 2 ½ years of active duty in the military but never lost his penchant for rhyming. Today he continues to surround himself with quality Hip Hop music, never forgetting the feeling that “the golden era” gave him in his younger years. He feels the commercial success of Hip Hop is a great thing for the art but somewhere in the midst of many successes the love and respect of the art has been lost. Primo refuses to use the power of speak over a drum in a manner that would negatively affect the listener or the genre as a whole. He is a firm believer in quality over quantity which is why he chooses to keep intellect in his rhymes. If you yearn for the day when Rap music made you smile as hard as it made you think, then Primo The Cinematic is rated 4U. For more info visit: https://www.tradebit.com
