Details:
Diana was classically trained, playing piano from 6 and clarinet from 12. She sang in a number of choirs, including the international choir formed for the Baha’i World Congress in 1992, and had solo parts in a number of school productions. She started writing songs when she was a teenager and won a prize in a local schools’ carol competition when she was 18. Since having her own children, she has returned to song-writing with settings of Hidden Words and prayers, and a series of songs exploring the meanings in quotations from Baha’i writings or on themes related to the Baha’i teachings, such as peace and unity.
The songs are presented as a songbook with accompanying CD to enable them to be taught and shared with children and the wider Baha’i community.
I am grateful for the encouragement of my family and Baha’i friends in bringing this project to fruition and for the help of Kiskadee in developing the songs beyond voice and piano and in making this recording. Thanks also to Emma, my daughter, for singing so beautifully with me.
