Singer, Songwriter, Deidrey François began writing music at the age of seven and began performing her own music on the realization that ‘life’s shackles’ could not keep her from her childhood dreams. Deidrey enjoys a variety of music styles and the diversity in her songs is well reflected. She encompasses the raw emotion of hurt, the bliss of love and thankful praise in her music. Her voice is soothing and exquisite and carried with effortless ease. Her lyrics can take you from playful drama to touching the deepest part of your soul.
This is especially demonstrated in her inspirational music. Her personality exudes in her music. The playful tease of Jazz and Swing, the melancholy and dry humor of the blues, the soulfulness of Gospel that seems to speak to your own personal life’s journey.
“I know I must be guided by Spirit because all these songs flow so easily, I never doubt the lyrics or the melody when it comes to me.” Deidrey can write just about everything. Deidrey has performed with the Brian Rose little Big Band, The County Town Singers Choral in Whitby and at Various Churches, including the Unity Churches across London, Hamilton, Durham Region etc.
A wife and mother to three wonderful kids, she admits that most of her songs are written in the noise and chaos of any parents day. “I have no choice, and God knows that, so the messages in my songs, come with deliberate intent and are very specific.” Deidrey has the exceptional ability to create custom songs based on the needs of that particular person. From heart wrenching, tear provoking Mother’s Day “ Mother’s Love” to the Special Requests of Joyous Weddings “Heaven”. Deidrey has written songs for the Walk for Suicide Awareness, The County Town Singers Chorale, Performing Artist Emilio Zarris and others.
