Coming out of the city of Brisbane is rock band “Don’t Come Monday” (DCM) with their self titled debut E.P. officially released in July 2008. DCM already has a strong local following and they are receiving immense response to the new E.P. There’s no doubt that this band is poised to have a major impact on the music scene! Injecting passion and fire into their live performances, the four piece band has a stylish, modern rock sound with an energy and fusion acquired through years of live gigging.
Lead singer Devin Bowles is ably supported by his brother Caleb. Together, they bring a fresh approach to vocals reminding us that good rock music needs a disciplined combination of sophisticated melodies and tight harmony. Devon and Caleb’s musical training also shines through in their tight guitar work. Drummer Mark Greenwood and Mally on bass deliver creative but well developed contributions to bring together a complete sound that far surpasses the sum of its parts.
The band members have been playing together since their mid teens and now in their early twenties they demonstrate a maturity in their sound as well as their approach to life. Much more than just four guys in a band, Devon, Caleb, Mark and Mally are a family that have grown up together and supported each other through the good and the bad. It’s no wonder these guys are tight.
The closeness of the band members shines through in their collaborative approach to song writing. Each member adds his own flavor and style based on very different influences to create a final product that combines each of their strengths. Having journeyed together for so many years to find and shape the sound that is ‘Don’t Come Monday’, it’s safe to say that this is not a band that is going to disappear overnight.

Brisbane melodic rock at it''s best.
Warming up with pulse jumping bass lines and pealing drum beats, Brisbane band Don''t Come Monday''s greatly anticipated self titled debut EP proves it was worth the wait. Squeezing a short list of the band''s favoured songs, which could quite easily have been a full album, the debut EP displays passionate musicians shaping Brisbane''s power pop scene. Even if you are a blooming fan of Don''t Come Monday, you will quickly feel the togetherness (both musically and of kinship) within the band as it shines through in their music. The four piece are continually in sync and work off one other to create the EP, the masterpiece. Lead vocalist Devin Bowles strongly delivers harmonious melodies whilst being supported by his brother Caleb, who ably produces tight riffs invariably pleasing to the ear, a sound of obvious musical training. The track listing of the debut EP by Don''t Come Monday shows no boring bits. Displaying great dynamics they can be pop, punk, rock, melodic and straight up wowing. (... – JS)
