Influenced by everything from hair bands and alternative, to pop-rock mainstays, he has always been inspired most by the bands that appeal to the everyman. Some influences include Oasis, Matchbox 20, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Lifehouse.
The journey began back in the late 90’s, when Gary started to write music and put
together a make-shift home studio. Over the last few years he has been continuing to refine the art of writing, playing, and recording. Learning to hone his guitar, bass, and piano skills, as well as the skills needed to record and produce.
Recently, Gary created a buzz online when his song “Starting Over” was selected as a finalist in TagWorld’s “Snakes on a Plane” movie soundtrack contest. Out of close to 500 entries, he finished in the top 25 in fan voting. He then moved on to the final round, where his song was screened by New Line Cinema. He also finished 72nd in fan voting out of thousands of entries and moved on to the Quarterfinals of 2007''s Lollapalooza “Last Band Standing” contest. He then had his song screened by a celebrity panel that included Perry Farrell (Jane''s
Addiction/Lollapalooza founder) and Granny Foundation members.
