The Seattle band, The Muttering Guppies, was voted into the final round of the Washington Emerging Musicians award for 2004. They''re also being featured nationally on National Public Radio''s All Songs Considered Open Mic. They offer up powerful eclectic blends of alternative rock/pop/country/and jazz--- all built around great lyrics and vocals. Singer/songwriter/guitarist James Thomas has been distilling songs for this CD over many years, and chose some of the most infectious for the CD. Thomas''s road led through getting a https://www.tradebit.com teaching college writing and lit, before he left to breathe more freely and devote himself to music.
Seven years ago he joined up with friend, bassist and backup singer Robert Peterson. They were midway through work on the debut CD when they found guitarist Justin McReynolds, whose guitar atmospherics were just right to complete their sound. The Guppies rely on a variety of drummers to express their eclectic range. Recording of their second CD is under way. Look for it this spring(2005).
