"Here Without You" was inspired by a letter from a Civil War soldier to his sweetheart, and the first three lines of the chorus were taken from that letter. "At The Depot" is a true story about a woman fleeing from town to town to escape her abusive lover, her face badly bruised. These songs reflect love, loss, travelling, and other universal themes.
