I''ve always enjoyed old-time folk music and in later years I began learning bluegrass gutar. My wife, Ann, took up the Appalachian lap dulcimer and we have enjoyed performing locally for churches, festivals, and senior groups.
Eventually we became involved in Appalachian folklore, folk music and storytelling. This led to Living History performances and Civil War reenactment.
From there I enjoyed a few years doing a Living History portrayal of Mark Twain. In addition to monologue, I used a replica of a 185os banjo as a part of my act playing antebellum pieces as well as original material representing that era of American history.
Over the years I have written a number of songs that have sat collecting dust on the shelf. With my songs not being mainstream I am independently producing CDs as an effort to maintain and preserve old-time folk music.
