Details:
The alternative-rock band National Holiday is an up-and-coming group that has been playing concerts in eastern Idaho and Utah for a year and a half, during which time its music has been received remarkably well by concert-goers and critics alike. The band has now moved to California in hopes of finding a larger audience for their over-the-top live show and outstanding new album, "Transmission."

National Holiday''s "Transmission" mixes hard-rocking and up-beat guitar riffs with strong, harmonic melodies to create a unique sound that is not easily defined. From ''jump up and down'' rock anthems like "Placebo", "Can You Here This", and "Lights Out", to the ska/reggae influenced "Don''t Stand Too Long", to more mellow, emotional songs like "One" and "I Go To Sleep", the twelve tracks on the CD cover a vast array of musical styles and are sure to get under the skin of any musical audience.

However, the band''s biggest draw is its live performance. "National Holiday is a party on wheels," says Jeremy Plothow, a music critic for the Idaho Falls Post Register. "With laid back, bouncy rhythms and ''get up and dance'' riffs, this band puts on one of the best live shows around. The band is in a musical category all its own and is unlike anything you''ll ever hear. Its trademark [business] suits add to the bizarre, carnival-like live performance... National Holiday is one of the most eclectic, exciting bands in eastern Idaho."

The band''s accomplishments include winning the "Monster Band Competition" on K-BEAR 101.5, an eastern Idaho radio station, for the song "Placebo"; winning 2nd Place in the "Chesbro''s East Idaho Battle of the Bands" in 2003 and 1st Place in the same competition in 2004; performing at the Spud Fest Film Festival in 2004 where they won the prize for "Best Idaho Band"; and just plain rocking!
