Two years of blood, sweat, and tears have produced 11 songs that encapsulate everything from politics, love, parents, and dead goldfish. On their first track, Hidden Agenda, Nemo confidently tells their parents "sorry mom we''re not going to law school because we believe in music". DIY demands action from a silent minority that refuses to speak up, while Here We Go Again tells the bittersweet story of a couple that keeps breaking up and getting back together. The blistering Rock N''Roll Connoisseur, Nemo''s most aggressive song, sends the simplest message of all: "We''re here, and we don''t give a fuck".
Nemo''s experiences in the past two years have produced a veteran stage presence. Their performances can be summed up in two words: energy and passion. Quickly gaining in popularity, Nemo has found themselves performing in front of increasing crowds throughout all of California. Major Sunset venues have found it impossible to ignore Nemo, as evidenced by a sold out show at the world famous Viper Room. Their music has expanded from coast to coast, as legions of fans who believe in Nemo have flown them to New York and Connecticut, with numerous more offers to expand their playground to places such as Ohio and Florida. Small college radio stations who have also come across Nemo''s EP have given them airplay all over California. Perhaps Nemo''s most accomplished feat in the punk-pop world was their stint as an unknown band on the Warped Tour opening for a band called Yellowcard. Needless to say, Nemo has gone and is going places.
It all started with a vision that Daniel Park (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) had in college. To become a voice, to prove something to the masses. His childhood friend Sunn Wee (drums) craved that same vision. From working on music projects in elementary school to forming their first band, Poser, Daniel and Sunn have developed a distinct and creative songwriting style. It was Poser that proved Daniel''s talent as a vocalist and Sunn''s creativity as a drummer. While personal issues ended Poser, Daniel and Sunn never gave up their vision and began a new quest with a new band. Yongstar (lead guitar) was introduced to the duo through mutual friends, and his searing solos and technical know-how quickly took Nemo to another level. Yongstar soon got into contact with a friend from his hometown of Cupertino, Abe Chong (vocals/bass), and told him of the dream that the three individuals shared so passionately. With a strong background in piano, drums, and guitar, Abe purchased a one way ticket to San Diego and Nemo was finally complete. Their dedication became painstakingly evident as band members drove more than two hours just to practice and play small shows in front of tiny crowds. This hardworking foursome have rooted and immersed themselves in this vision, and they haven''t looked back since.
