5 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, POP: British Pop

Details:
nerami''s blend of subtle, yet driving drumbeats and unexpected melodic turns intertwined with a unique brand of subdued, yet emotional soul found in Oren Oami''s vocals, finds nerami on its own path. Their songs explore the parameters of everyday life, intense in their persistence and often startling in their harmonies and phrasings (often compared to the likes of Coldplay, Travis, Elbow and Jeff Buckley). The band is comprised of an eclectic group of seasoned musicians who were all brought together by the forces of nature...and some good luck.

nerami began with Oren Oami, a dynamic and versatile musical talent with roots in Queens, New York. Oren, whose skills range from piano, guitar and percussion to singing and songwriting, has shared the stage with commercially successful groups including Matchbox 20 and Creed. In the fall of 2000, Brian Maser, a close friend and confidant of nerami, urged Oren to join him in Los Angeles to expose his talents to a larger market.

After a few months of recording and performing as a solo act around LA, Oren was introduced to Chris Cohick and bass player Jax, who had recently disbanded from a prior group in search of a new cutting edge sound. The three got together and nerami, the vision was instantly transformed into nerami, the band.

Originally from Washington D.C., Chris Cohick has written and recorded on more than a dozen CDs and performed with the likes of such musicians as J.J. Johnson, Tim Reynolds, Lee Oskar (WAR) and Zakk Wylde. When Chris moved to Los Angeles in 1997, he began playing with bassist Jax, originally from Tucson, AZ., who was a member of the desert punk band, The DipBuckets. Jax is veteran of Los Angeles music scene and was a student of Tim Emmons, former bass player for Bo Diddley and James Brown. Jax puts his unique groove into the nerami sound with his rock past and blues training. In March 2002, nerami sought out drummer, Steve Judd, who is another veteran of the Los Angeles music scene, to complete the quartet. Steve, originally from Seattle, WA., honed his skills in Memphis, TN.

In September 2002, nerami released the three-song single "uninspired," from which the title track is featured on the 2002 Mike Galaxy Compilation CD of hot L.A. bands. In March 2003, nerami released a 5-song demo to radio and print media. The band can be seen performing in and around Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Tucson. nerami is represented by Ken Burry.
