Mark is essentially a singer/songwriter with a palpable passion that’s extremely contagious. Whether playing simple melodic guitar with a folk-y lilt or a funky, psychedelic, blues/jazz stomp, there is always honesty and commitment from beginning to end.
Mark picked up the guitar in his mid twenties and hasn’t put it down since, and although not from a musical background, his Spanish and Irish roots are steeped in musical tradition.
Initially captivated by poetry during his formative years, musically he was something of a late starter. However, the creative urge was always there, and he eventually took up guitar in 1989 because “I just happened to drive past a shop selling guitars, and had the money on me to buy one – it could just as easily have been a garden centre, and I might have bought a shovel.”

Mark has played in the USA, Holland, Belgium and France and headlined at venues in London (Mean Fiddler) and across Southern England. In various guises he has appeared on BBC Southern Counties, BBC Wales, Power FM 103.2, Spirit FM 106.6 and on Farnborough College Radio as a poet. ITV’s Meridian TV also filmed Mark as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival with New York beat poet “Sage”.
He has played many acoustic and electric gigs in the UK and abroad, driven by the urge/passion of writing original material and playing it whenever and wherever he can.
