Mistaken Identity is four unique, equally talented individuals brought together not only by their common location of Rockford, Illinois, but by their passion for music. Comprised of emcee Ed Harrington (Tha E.D.), R&B vocalists Darius Lewis and Brian Norris, and beatmaker/producer Chris McGill (Soleternity), Mistaken Identity have certainly distinguished themselves with their unique sound and diverse background.
Darius and Brian, once integral members of the hit local R&B group "Celsius," contribute soulfully raw vocals to the group. Their ability to craft enticing R&B melodies to Hip Hop beats distinguishes them from the rest of the R&B market. Experience in the dance and performance venue has served the group well.
Veteran emcee Tha E.D. brings intelligent but universally appealing Hip Hop, and has opening performances for Ice Cube and other notables to his name. As the professionalism of his music reveals, Tha E.D. has been performing and recording Hip Hop for over ten years.
Behind the boards is 17 year old beatmaker/producer Soleternity, who many already recognize from 105.9 WKPO Friday nights, or were one of his 1,500,000 listeners on his https://www.tradebit.com web page. Recognized for his creative and inspired fusion of R&B and Hip Hop, Sol''s music and persona have set him apart from competing producers. Ambition and uniqueness have driven this prodigy to greater accomplishments in 3 years of producing than many musicians achieve in a lifetime, including the production credit on "Sleep with an AK," a Young Buck (G-Unit) track on Dj Whoo Kid''s S.W.A.T. mixtape.
But more intriguing than any of their individual accomplishments, the group boasts incredible chemistry and work ethic despite having functioned as a unit since only May of 2003. Their debut album, "Beautifully Absurd,"is a testament to the group''s motivation and raw ability to make great music.
