I first began my journey down the music road at the age of nine. My older brother had bought a cheap accoustic guitar and never really pursued it very far. That guitar sat around for months before I was drawn to it. I didn''t know what it was, but I could tell right away that I liked it. I began to teach myself the hand postions in the lesson book, and before too long, even learnd the first couple of songs. Later that year my brother moved out, taking the guitar with him, but I was already hooked. I pestered my mother relentlessly to get me my own, and to my surprise, she actually did! I chose a natural wood body Peavy electric (mostly because it was the best one out of the price range she imposed upon me). Three years, four guitars and two instructors later I was one jamming dude, with a little garage band hooking up together on the weekends. We would have all our friends come over and play our favorite covers of the time (mostly rock back then). When I graduated from Highschool, I had a hard time settling for the same old gigs. I wanted to create, but I really didn''t have anything to sing about that was relevant. I soon realized being forced out into the recently much bigger world would give me plenty of material. Good times, bad times, broken heart, lost job, lost loved ones, birth of my first child...you name it, I was writing lyrics to it. Unfortunately, the maturity I was gaining as an artist was not shared by many of my bandmates, and we parted ways. I continued on slowly, determined not to give up on my dream of being a songwriter but the demands of having a wife and child put them on hold for a while. A few years later, some guys I knew were trying to get a band back together and I went to them with a couple of my tunes and Boom! We were off to the races. We played every place we could find, kept working on my originals, playing covers around them and after a while became tight enough to win a "battle of the Bands" with nothing but my songs. I was on cloud nine. Kids asking me for my autograph, a bonefide celebrity for a night. But the demons that sunk us earlier resurfaced again and some band members had to be let go. I decided I have to get the tunes on a CD and take my time and do it right. This album is the result of that effort, and a great learning experience that I will cherish forever. I hope you find it pleasing to listen to, I really enjoyed making it.
