Johnny Philips played with The Side in the 80’s and later with Low Profile. He has been playing music for over thirty years. An accomplished musician he is the lead singer for and also plays guitar, keys, trumpet and percussion for his current classic rock band, After Dark. He has been featured on TV in Europe while with Low Profile, having done radio and television appearances as well as two featured music videos performing "Is it you" and "Only to Find".
Your Wedding Day is a departure from typical classic rock material. A ballad he wrote for his stepdaughter, Jodi for her wedding dance with him. He wanted this song to be special and as such it developed into a much orchestrated piece reminiscent at times of the band Chicago. There are strings, horns and classical dynamics in this song capturing the journey of being a stepfather who wants so much to be a father to "his" girls. Starting with her first step through growing up and finally her wedding day, Johnny reminisces about her growing up, the things he missed and the things he was a part of until he has to give his daughter away.
