Jammin Jesse and His Bedroom Gangstas began life as an impromptu blues band at a backyard party. After a successful performance of a song they''d written that very day, JJAHBG officially formed with only one goal in mind: have a blast making music with whomever the hell wanted to play we-ath. Incorporating new members at every opportunity and possessing a rather musically adventurous spirit, their style quickly grew to include influences from popular music styles across the board. Their reach also grew, with membership stretching from Seattle in the pacific northwest to sunny Southern California; even Europe feels the wrath of their England chapter. JJAHBG''s debut album "The Big Easy" dropped in November of 2007. Their smash sophomore effort "We are Legend" hit shelves in late 2008. Already they are hard at work on material for a third album.
"We are Legend" is JJAHBG''s most sonically adventurous album to date. Originally bluesy leanings are for the most part eschewed in favor of new influences. Quirky off-key folk opener "This Old K..." gives way to the crushing beats and synths of "They Call it V-Power" and "The Humanoid Typhoon", to the straight up rocker "Pre-Nump" complete with catchy guitar riffs and a sizzling lead. The album closes with the subdued acoustic tune "With These Hands", funk-metal "The Battle of Funktown", and finally the impossibly catchy closer "Roxymusic." In short, "We are Legend" is the single greatest album ever. Do yourself a favor and give it a listen. It could change your life.
