Details:
New York City has the tendency to shape one’s character. This is certainly true of singer and songwriter Tamara Hey. Born and raised in the Bronx, and now residing in the East Village, the fabric and soul of NYC weaves in and out of Tamara’s music.

On her new CD, ''Miserably Happy'', produced by Art Hays, the songs are more personal than ever before, such as ''Drive'', ''Round Peg'', and “October Sun”. With typical New Yorker sarcasm and pure pop influences, Tamara offers up ''David #3'', ''Somebody’s Girl'' and “You Wear Me Out''. And on the sweet side, there is ''Umbrella'' and ''Long Dog Day''. Fans and friends agree that the record’s title “Miserably Happy” (from the title track), sums up Tamara Hey perfectly.

The production and arrangements on ''Miserably Happy'' should not be overlooked. Art Hays, producer of ''Miserably Happy'', has created an exciting reflection of the music he and Tamara both love. The influences are clear (The Beatles, ELO, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Suzanne Vega, Aimee Mann), but smartly, the focus remains on Tamara Hey’s voice and lyrics.

Tamara Hey has been playing live with and without her band on the New York City scene for years, continuously testing new material and putting together the players who make up her core band (featured on ''Miserably Happy''): Brian Delaney on drums, Tim Lefebvre on bass, Art Hays on electric guitar, and husband Henry Hey on keyboards. Special guests on the record include Ryan Scott, Tony Conniff, JJ Appleton and Tom Beckham. Be sure to check out the horn section on ''Drive'' comprised of Henry and Art! Shows without the band are just as much fun, with Tamara often premiering new material at intimate New York City music spots.

A respected songwriter, Tamara has released records independently under her own name and label. The latest batch of songs on her new album ''Miserably Happy'' will place her on a new level as an artist and songwriter.
