Northstar''s "All Roads" CD is the beginning to the fulfillment of a dream for five musicians with over 120 years of combined experience. Blending backgrounds in contemporary country, rock and roll and Christian rock, Northstar spent six months working with Gary Nicholaides at Mobius Studios to produce this CD. The songs for this CD are from real life experiences done in a positive, upbeat, sometimes humorous and sometimes dramatic theme. Songwriters Don Henry, Barbara Peterson, Steve Strauss and Matthew Alsen provided the songs that make this album a joy to listen to.
Northstar was started in 1995. Over the years band members have changed, but two of the original band members Steve Strauss (Keyboards, guitar and vocals) and Barbara Peterson (vocals) still serve as the core. Don Henry (guitar and vocals) joined in 2003. Rick Kemp (bass) joined in 2004. Tony Clement (drums and vocals)left the band after completion of the " All Roads " CD. Bob Zuver recently joined the band as the new drummer. All of these musicians have spent years honing their craft to provide a listening experience that will leave you wanting more.
This CD is as diverse as the band members who created it. In 10 tracks " All Roads " tells tales of the search for love, young love, growing older together, watching children grow and learn, work, good times and spirituality. You never know what''s coming next.
Track 11 is a video of "Late Night Drive" in .mov format. (QuickTime works well) This video was filmed in two days by Jesse Blanchard and features popular places around Douglas County Oregon. Look for the beaver at Munchies Restaurant in Glide. The story is about two young people, portrayed by Shaun Henry and Keesha Cooper, getting ready for a date to go on a late night drive.
