Nude is a piercing power trio who collided on the Hollywood streets late last spring. Their sound is one of powerful indie-pop hooks, smooth harmonies, and memorable melodies, all driven by propulsive human-grooved beats.
At it''s inception, singer, Tony Karlsson moved from Gothenberg, Sweden all the way to Hollywood with little more than a guitar. He soon met LA local Bobby Amaro, and Kevin Brown fresh from a small farm town in rural Northern California. The three hit it off instantly and collaborated to write some of the freshest, most creative pop songs to date. Within weeks the band had defined their unique sound, and had established themselves around town as a great live act. Within only six months the band signed with LA indie label Audiowhore Records and began production on their debut full-length "Sunshine-Baby." Teamed up with acclaimed producer John Avila (Oingo Boingo, Reel Big Fish) the album was finished in just over two months and was released in April ''05.
Still a very young band, their multi-cultural make up is also one of their most charming qualities, citing influences ranging from The Faint, to James Brown, and The Pixies, to Swedish anti-rock outfit Ebba Gron.
The music is fun, high energy, and happy, and appeals to a varied and broad audience. When asked to sum up a mission statement, the band produced a piece of scratch paper scrawled with:
"A long long time ago, I can still remember how the music used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance that I could make those people dance, and maybe they''d be happy for a while."
