The band members of The SOULMATES are brothers and sisters in music. They come from Canada, Mauritius, Barbados and Switzerland. In 2007 The SOULMATES introduced themselves with a self promoted concert in Zurichs international Jazz Club Moods. One and a half years later at the end of 2008 their first CD album with original music has now been released.
The secret of The SOULMATES is a blend of Soul, R&B and Pop, which emphasizes especially the voices – we call it Rhythm & Soul. No surprise though: The four vocalists Freddy, Manuela, Sonja and Cherry define the SOULMATES sound both as blending choir and as spiritful lead singers. They are completed by keyboarder Greg, himself an outstanding lead singer, as well as by Haig (drums), Christian (bass), Jean-Marc (guitar & vocals) and Florian (sax).
The title of their first CD “FROM NOW ON” is based on the song “From Now On” written by Haig, Jean-Marc and Greg. It’s a song about self awareness. But it also beautifully stands for the beginning of The SOULMATES.
