At the age of 4 Twitch (born Claire Carreras) was singing made up lullabies to her little brothers and sisters. It was cute, but it also foreshadowed her uncanny songwriting abilities.
Some of her early songs include “My cat from the corner store” a song written at age eight about a cat that she kills by overfeeding, which she wrote for the girl from Denmark who rented a room in the house. There were the songs about sisters Helva, Laura and Karla in Spanish, which highlighted all the things that were annoying about them.
She began writing full-length original tunes, accompanied on the piano and continued to sing for anyone who would listen. Then as a teenager she was given her first guitar. She taught herself how to play and continued to write.
She auditioned and put together a band in her first year of high school called ‘Anti’. The band consisted of former classmates Theresa, Aimee and Levi. It was her escape from home, and often her and Levi would sit in his spare room and write music, pondering over our future in the music industry. Her passion for music manifested into many smaller venue shows, other bands, and a few collaborations. Aside from music Twitch also has a succesful clothing line called Twitch-In Fashion, enjoys an eventful career doing standup and sketch comedy, and works as an actress in Film and TV.
