Like so many other American girls in the pop industry today, former band members of "The American Girls" (Trauma Records/Sony Music Publishing/ William Morris) took a whirlwind trip through the music machine only to emerge exhausted and frustrated, clutching their recording contract, CDs, and creative drive, wondering where to go next. Stress took its toll, and the band dissolved at the end of 2001. Down but not out, "The American Girls" resolved not to pack it in. They aren''t girls at all, to be precise, and lead singer/guitarist Higgins, guitarist Scott Georgis, and drummer Daniel Madley, have come together again to form a new group, vowing to enjoy every minute and make music they can be proud of. Enter "Odds Against Tomorrow," a group self-described as "slightly darker, just as emotional, edgier and more dynamic."

With the new addition of Matt Souther (long time member of "The Baseboard Heaters") on bass guitar, "Odds Against Tomorrow" is looking more and more like a sure thing. A four-song, self-titled EP and a high-energy live show have reviewers buzzing and fans raving. The Oregonian has described "Odds Against Tomorrow" as a "vibrant new outfit," with "churning guitars, stunning harmonies and Higgins'' trademark soaring melodies." Derek Sivers, owner of CD https://www.tradebit.com describes "Odds Against Tomorrow" as "modern, melodic rock that will tune you in with delicious hints of funk, emo, hard rock, progressive rock and 80''s accessibility." The EP has already garnered national and international sales, and the group is hard at work on demos for their first full-length record. They''re also hitting the college circuit, booking regional tours to expand on their thriving success in Portland''s local music scene.

With all of the talent that made "The American Girls" the band which was "hard not to fall in love with," (The Statesman Journal), and the drive, strength and craft gleaned from a trip around the musical block, "Odds Against Tomorrow" is poised to go the distance. And while they''re at it, "We''re having a blast," says drummer, Dan Stieg. The Oregonian calls "Odds Against Tomorrow" a band full of "guts and roar." Those guts are propelling "Odds Against Tomorrow" into a stellar future. That roar will carry you along for the ride.
