The Oriskany Strings got started singing these songs in their own little white church in Oriskany, Virgina in the beautiful Craig Creek valley. With two female and two male vocalists, they are reminiscent of the original Carter Family and Chuck Wagon Gang. And besides a guitar, clawhammer banjo, bluegrass banjo, and autoharp, they even have a washtub bass to help create the true old time country gospel sound.
