Moody, atmospheric rock with a twist
Mike Taylor and Peter Dyer, friends from high school in Hawaii, crossed the Pacific to Seattle to start a rock band. They formed One Time Through in 2001, swiftly adding John West on bass and David Sherwin on drums -- musicians that had also moved to Seattle to start fresh. As a group, the music grew organically, heavily influenced by a mix of dark, atmospheric rock, a tinge of punk, and a common love of the well-written song that surprises with each new listen.
After two dozen shows in the Pacific Northwest, they recorded their first record, Lights Out, with producer Martin Feveyear (The Briefs, Mark Lanegan, Rosie Thomas). The album is full of unexpected chord changes, complex guitar arrangements, and passionate vocals full of trouble and frustration that have garnered the band comparisons to Superdrag, the Screaming Trees, and Swervedriver.
