PARKLIFE BIO
"You can crash your car out on the highway of lost souls, or you can bet your life on rock and roll." With this bold statement from it''s epic "President''s War," Raleigh, North Carolina''s Parklife declares the root of its musical ambition while capturing the essence of why generations have found meaning, belonging and transcendence in the power of rock and roll.

Parklife came together in the winter of 2002 when Rob Clay (bass/vox), Sam Clowney (guitar/vox)and Jason Bone (drums) began jamming on some original songs in the same Chapel Hill rehearsal space that gave rise to local heroes Ben Folds, Ryan Adams and Superchunk. The band quickly took its energetic, melodic rock music to stages throughout the southeast and then into the studio, where Parklife recorded its debut CD "Lonely Eyes and Amsterdam" with Grammy-nominated producer Jon Custer (COC, Chris Whitley, DAG).

The four songs on "Amsterdam" capture the full spectrum of the band''s music, from the modern rock energy of "Butterflies and Hurricanes" and "Gone in October" to the anthemic Brit-rock of "President''s War" and the ambient, U2-influenced sonic landscapes of "San Jacinto." The band''s compelling songs and explosive live show have earned Parklife a quickly growing, enthusiastic fan base as well as critical acclaim, recently garnering the band mentions in music industry A&R tip sheets https://www.tradebit.com and https://www.tradebit.com. North Carolina''s Red Eye Label included "Butterflies and Hurricanes" in its "Radio Redeye" collection of the southeast''s most promising unsigned artists and Morisen Records will feature "Gone in October" in an upcoming release to showcase new talent. The band''s inspired live performances have already earned Parklife support slots with Wilco and Better Than Ezra.

Parklife is currently on the road playing shows to support its release of "Lonely Eyes and Amsterdam." Check out the latest news and dates at https://www.tradebit.com.

Recent Parklife Press:

"...once in a while a band emerges from the GigAmerica "demo pile" that makes everyone in the office sit bolt-upright and take notice. That''s exactly what happened with the Parklife EP. Excellent songs, strong hooks, riveting performances pepper this disc from start to finish." https://www.tradebit.com

"Parklife coax guitars into soaring, moody hard pop while the vocals bring a heady rush to neck muscles. Their new EP, Lonely Eyes and Amsterdam, is ready for the stores and, with cuts like "Butterflies and Hurricanes," they are set to invade radio faster than you can blink your eyes."
