MP3 Brad Passons - Set up for Failure

Brad has a Matt Nathanson, John Mayer feel to his songs. An acoustic rock album that knows how to hit the heart. Brad has shared the stage with Universal''s Matt Nathanson and Seth Horan formerly of Vertical Horizon. This album is worth checking out.

Review from Enigma Magazine 3/18/04

Next up is Brad Passons debut "Setup for Failure." After the first two tracks, I began to get a feel for what kind of animal I was dealing with here. In those tracks, "Jerk" and "Don''t Wanna Mess It Up", I got the feeling that Brad is the epitome of the "man and his guitar" types. I would not say that he is one of those sappy folk singers though. He is more of the Jack Johnson/Dave Matthews types that focuses his efforts on quality songwriting instead of concentrating on the music. The songs on the disc are very mature in nature and he definitely has a way with words in describing lost love, self-reflection, and new beginnings. I was thoroughly impressed with his singing voice. Like I said before, he has this Jack Johnson thing going for him, but he also has a Coldplay/soft-core side to him that kind of rounds out the sound in a wholesome kind of way. Pretty much, the entire CD is just him with his acoustic guitar. This is a great way to relax after a long day. It has a soothing quality because of the light and airy sound. I reccomend this CD if you are into the laid back type of artist. "
