About the Album
After reaching the finals of the 2007 Good Times Magazine Long Island Music Festival, Last Second Chances headed into rehearsals to begin pre-production on what would become their freshman effort. As the band prepared to record, the pre-production process took on a life of its own and LSC decided to self-produce and track Where We Started in its entirety. The ability to independently record and produce the album afforded LSC the freedom to create an eclectic mix of tracks by combining earthy tones with a hard rocking backbone.

Where We Started opens with the frenetic, yet soaring, “Calm Down”, and is followed by the crowd-favorite rock-march “Come After Me” and the unsure, but sure-about-love, love song “Emily.” Truly speaking to Last Second Chances’ versatility, each track is wide-ranging in style and feel, yet the album’s themes remain cohesive throughout. Main themes of first love, longing for more of what’s gone, and overcoming one’s fears are present on a head-to-tail listen of Where We Started. Other tracks featured on the album are the haunting “Here We Go Again,” bass-driven anthem “Light It Up,” Sunny Day Real Estate inspired “Turn Away” and the steamy, sultry “Tonight.” Where We Started was mixed by Marc Bauman (Melville, NY) and mastered by John Scrip of Massive Mastering (Chicago, IL).

About the Band
Alt-indie rock band Last Second Chances, from Long Island, NY, tears into its genre by mixing organic acoustic grooves, which are accented by a hard hitting electric lead and an uncompromising rhythm section. Playing mostly their catalogue of original songs at live performances, Last Second Chances brings a raw energy and presence to the stage that derives itself straight from frontman Justin Stiegert’s swelling vocal presence. Serving as perfect counterparts, drummer Jan Dittmar and bassist Kenny Swierupski supply a thick backline that relieves the pressure built up from Stiegert’s vocals. Tom Lally completes the mix with supporting vocal harmonies and a powerful lead electric guitar.
