John Laprade’s songwriting and recordings sound at once current and reminiscent of pop-rock’s golden past. Joined by friends and seasoned NYC musicians with a similar obsession with The Beatles, The Stones, Elvis Costello, Wilco and others, Laprade has crafted an EP packed with hum-able hooks,sly lyrics and lush harmonies.
With guest appearances by legendary guitarist Richard Lloyd (television/matthew sweet)and NYC drummer extraordinaire Rich Pagano(the fab faux), Blind is a four song prelude to Laprade’s forthcoming full-length album with producer Robert L. Smith due in early 2009.
Laprade has had music used in original programming for both MTV and VH1 and the track "Knock You Down" has already had national exposure in a commercial for the A&E network.
