Written by Pete Cassani, Principle Peasant, 8/8/03.
Started out playing guitar in my room stoned out of my mind. Ended up in Boston in the subway playing Dylan covers and songs about whatever was pissing me off. Started The Peasants soon after that.
We''ve been all over New England, with special emphasis on the streets and subways of Boston.
We began touring the USA in 1997 when I got some money together and bought a Ford Econoline E150, the mightiest touring vessel on earth. Soon after the first trip we put out this record, Out On The Street. The first song, Frat Boy, predictably got alot of airplay on the college stations. We sold a makeload of CDs.
Over the next 2-3 years we toured all over the US, playing with Steve Tyler of Aerosmith, Slim from The Stray Cats and The White Stripes. We did 10 tours in different incarnations with me fronting whatever trio was available. There is a huge group of musicians who''ve done time on the road with me and I am grateful to all of them.
In 2001 friends from NYC hooked me up with a booking agent in Holland and I started going over to Europe. Been over there FIVE times, actually have distribution and fans. Came back after tour #3 and recorded the 12 song "Welcome To My Country." You can buy that too!!!
You can reach us at https://www.tradebit.com or call to book a show. (617)571-3111. I hope you buy both the cds. We will not let you down.
