Searching For Signal formed in January 2006, their freshman year, when Matt Salois and Benny Edaburn, who had been playing together for a couple of months, joined with Michael Azari to form a band. The trio recorded and released a five-track EP within their first year together. Although they began with a pop sound, they have since progressed to fit into what could be best described as a melodic post-rock genre; Matt and Michael synchronize prolific melodies on their guitars while Benny lays down strong crashing beats on the drums, all over Matt''s dynamic lead vocals. The band has become a friendly and well-learned group of musicians who have been compared to Explosions In The Sky and Coldplay. The band won Bellaire Men''s Club Battle of the Bands in October 2007, obtaining 12 hours of recording time at Sugarhill Studios, and recorded a new self-titled full-length album.
